The Youth Advocacy Department, a division of the Committee for Public Counsel Services, is a community-oriented organization that applies the Youth Development Approach to advocate for youth in the courtroom and the community. Located near Dudley Square in Roxbury, our office has engaged in community efforts and discussions as an active partner in the community.
YAD utilizes holistic defense to combat both the causes and consequences of involvement in the criminal justice system. Our interdisciplinary team of defense attorneys, education attorneys, case managers, and a community liaison works with clients to address the many issues that young people face in order to prevent chronic court involvement and support the positive development of the client and the community as a whole.
